"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church, and made sharers in her mission." - Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213
Here in the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, the Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated for children under the age of seven upon the request of their parents. The Rite of Baptism usually takes place at one of our Sunday Masses or in a ceremony outside of Mass. Parents and godparents are expected to participate in a baptismal preparation session prior to the celebration of Baptism.
If you would like to have your child baptized, please call the parish office (207-827-4000) or fill out the contact form below.
If you filled out the e-form, someone from our parish office will be in touch with you shortly to discuss any specific questions you may have, to arrange for baptism preparation, and to schedule the date of baptism.
You will also be asked to fill out a more in-depth registration form (for each child) and a godparent verification form (for each godparent) as seen below. When have completed these forms, you send them to our Pastoral Assistant, Shelley Gould:
